Do you want a way to generate power at home naturally? This can be done in many ways based on the results that you want to achieve and the work that is required. Solar power is one option, but a cheaper way to go is to make a vertical axis wind turbine.

The frame of a vertical axis wind turbine can easily be made using scrap wood. One important thing to remember is the unit needs to easily spin when in a windy area. You will need to use PVC pipe and old bike wheels to construct this device.

You can use a DC treadmill motor or another component with your vertical axis wind turbine. This is a device that will generate a minimal amount of power, but has the potential for more. The design can be modified or customized if you find a better way to use this device to harness wind power.

Instructions to build your own vertical axis wind turbine are on here…
