A garden is a great way to grow plants, herbs, and other items for food. The most important thing you will need to know about a home garden is keeping it properly watered. However, some people may reside in an area where a garden is not an option. A good solution is to use a self-watering container. This can easily be done using a plastic bucket or other suitable container.

A square container like one used for kitty litter is a great option for this project. The reason is the ease of assembly for each container you want to make. Growing various herbs and a variety of other plants using a self-watering container is a great option for anyone with a patio or deck. The most important thing you will need to know is how to make a usable container.

The basic idea behind a simple self-watering container is being able to keep the soil moist. Water that you add to indoor plant containers will soak down to the bottom. All the work that is required to maintain your self-watering container is to add right amount of water. This means finding all the parts that you will need for this project. The parts that are used to make these containers can be found at any home improvement store.

A reservoir for the water is the most important part of a self-watering container. This is easy to make if you use a round drain pipe. PVC pipe will also be needed to complete this project. You also need to make use of a few different tools to prepare the parts before assembling your containers.

The items to grow in a self-watering container will depend on your needs and preferences. All you will need to do is make sure to keep the reservoir full to achieve the best results.
